Location Upside-Down Studio 1111 Nu’uanu Ave Suite 213
First Sat of Month 10am-2pm (after the first Friday)
Open to all individuals who want to learn more about how their body works efficiently. Although we will be looking at our anatomy from a dance and Pilates perspective you do not need to be a dancer or Pilates Addict to join us! Yoga Teachers, Fitness Trainers, Massage and Physical Therapists are welcome.

September 8th – Turn out from your hips not your feet. The anatomy behind this common dance correction. We will learn to stabilize our Sacroiliac Joint and move our leg at our hip joint. This will prevent lower back pain, sciatica, hip and knee arthritis, and ankle sprains to name a few. Moreover, will will become stronger and more attractive movers with a greater sense of balance!
October 6th- Move your arms from your back and keep your shoulders down! The anatomy behind this common dance correction. We will discover our serratus anterior and rotator cuff muscles while learning proper shoulder mechanics. This will prevent frozen shoulder and arm dislocations. More importantly this will allow us to stand on our hands, climb the silks, lift our partner, and achieve the long neck we are all looking for.
November 3rd- Point your toes. The anatomy behind this common dance correction. We will learn the bones and intrinsic muscles of the feet. This will prevent plantar fasciitis ankle sprains, shin splints and many more. In addition we will make your arch more beautiful while increasing your balance capabilities.
December 8th- Square your hips. Is it really possible? The anatomy behind this common dance correction. We will learn that it is anatomically impossible to keep your hips square and get your legs high. This will prevent hip osteoarthritis. We will learn how to use the movement of our hip in relationship to our leg to achieve that wonderful extension we are all looking for.

In each workshop we will tape our muscles on Herman (the skeleton) and then ourselves while learning the names of the bones, muscles, joints, connective tissues, and arthrokinematics of the joints covered that day. We will learn proper biomechanics and specific neuromuscular conditioning exercises to change our less than efficient usages. This will prevent and heal injury. NO TESTS JUST UNCOVERING THE MYSTERY OF YOUR BODY!
